During the summer, New York City explodes with street fairs. Many of them are held at regular intervals during the summer, giving you a chance to visit them several times during the warmer weather months.
The
Times Square Summer Fair is just one of the many street fairs held in New York City. The next event will be on Saturday, July 16. On this day, you will be able to enjoy strolling down Broadway from 47th Street to 57th Street and enjoying the sights and sounds as the Theatre District takes on a "carnival" atmosphere.
Visit over 350 booths featuring authentic ethnic foods, arts, crafts, jewelry, and other merchandise. Many different ethnic groups will be represented, so you should have no trouble finding something that reminds you of your own ethnic heritage or that of someone you know and love. You may even find the perfect gift for that special person.
In addition to the ethnic booths, you can also enjoy the displays set up by corporate, cultural, non-profit, and government organizations. You can obtain information on businesses, government services, and other things in New York City, and speak with representatives in a more relaxed, casual atmosphere.
Admission is free; you only pay for what you eat or purchase. This makes this a family- and budget-friendly way to spend a Saturday afternoon in NYC.
