Cricket fields, baseball diamonds and bay views
Timbrell park is hands-down one of the best parks in Five Dock. Not only is it large enough to accommodate a large sports field, cafe and modern play area for children, but it has a view of the Iron Cove Bay.

The spacious flat areas make it suitable for throwing a ball around, kite flying and testing out model toys.

Timbrell Park is one of those parks that has a lot going for it and it is always packed on the weekends. Yet, even mid-week there is always a steady stream of visitors.

This is probably because the park is located beside the Bay Run and is a good place to take a break from walking or just take in some of the views of the water.

Perhaps the most popular part of Timbrell park is the inclusive children's play area. It is a Livvi's Place play area - one of many located around Australia that were created to be suitable for all children to play in - regardless of ability or disability. They are specially designed for this and some have won awards for their design.

A playground and cafe with a difference

Livvi's Place recreation spaces are created in partnership with local councils by the Touched by Olivia Foundation. The play space in Timbrell Park includes The playground features: synthetic soft fall, swings, jungle gym, a rope climb and more. There is also a Livvi's Cafe here too. Which is another initiative of the Touched by Olivia Foundation.

Children's area aside, Timbrell Park is perfectly designed to create a link between the suburbs nearby and The Bay Run - a popular 7 km bike and walk path that runs along the Iron Cove bay and which links up with even more popular bike paths, like the Cooks River Greenway.

There is also a charming little section of bike and walking path which is completely shaded by trees.

BBQ facilities are also available near the children's play area. There are toilet facilities located at the park in the children's area as well as near the sports fields, which are open during daylight hours. There are two synthetic cricket pitches as well as two baseball fields.
