Some say it's in Five Dock, others in Rodd Point – either way, Timbrell Park is a wonderful place for you to take the kids.

Seven sheltered picnic tables and a covered barbeque area make it perfect for a quiet lunch. Toilets, wheelchair access, public transport and plentiful street parking make it convenient to use.

The best thing, though, is that your inexhaustible kids will be able to run themselves to a standstill. If the bike path, cricket nets and large grass oval aren't their thing, they'll be sure to love the unique playground.

The council, in fluent bureaucratic-speak, describes it as "an all inclusive, intergenerational playground in partnership with Touched By Olivia Foundation. The playground is the first of its kind and has been created in consultation with leading playground experts, disability experts, playground and early childhood academics." Translated into English, this means: "the playground is fun to use, and suitable for kids with disabilities."

If you or your partner are the energetic type, Timbrell Park is the gift that keeps on giving. While one of you keeps an eye on the littlies, the other can burn some calories on the nearby Bay Run.
