The
Ventnor Hotel is the main bar and dining area in the small town of
Port Vincent on the York Peninsula. Pt Vincent is approximately two and a half hours drive from the Adelaide CBD and a wonderful spot for a summer holiday.
If you are ever to venture into Pt Vincent, you would find it hard to miss the Ventnor Hotel. The hotel is located on the corner of the main street of Pt Vincent, directly overlooking the ocean. The hotel is made up of seven different sections including the main bar, pub style eating area, dining room, outdoor smoking area, poker machine room, kids play room, and small bottle shop.
The hotels main attraction is its large open windows which provide spectacular views of the Southern ocean and Pt Vincent beach.
The eating area is split into two sections with a bar menu and a dining room menu. The dining room is extremely large and features a salad bar and a different choice of daily specials to the bar menu. I have eaten in both the dining room, and bar sections of the hotel and have found that the service is pleasant with the waitresses attending to patrons in both of the sections.
The food at the Ventnor Hotel is tasty, and portion sizes are generous. The bar menu consists of snacks, wraps and burgers, seafood, schnitzel, and meat dishes while the dining room menu has a few more fancy additions, and the accompanying salad and vegetable bar. Prices range from $6 for soup of the day, to $27 for a Whiting or T-bone steak dish. All main meals are served with chips, and a choice of salad, or vegetables. I also thought it was a nice addition that every meal served in the bar section had two slices of bread and butter to accompany the dish. The bread is perfect for wiping up left over gravy.
With its beautiful ocean views and appetising meals, the Ventnor Hotel is the place to dine when visiting Pt Vincent.
