I often hear the question: "Where is the best pizza in Brisbane?"
Let me throw this recipe into the mix as my partner has always said that this concoction thrown together is the best pizza she has ever had many a time while downing vodka cruisers on a Friday night after a big week at work. We call the creation 'The Tsunami,' due to the impact of ingredients.
My homemade weekend favourite
To create the taste you have to start out with a wholemeal pizza base, these can be found at your local Woolworths store, or other major supermarket. Grab the traditional tomato paste along with the new Smokey Barbeque sauce by Masterfoods found in the sauce aisle and then load up the trolley with: one tomato, a capsicum (red or green), one onion, a tin of corn kernels, a can of diced pineapple, a blend of pizza mixed cheese, pepporoni (as much as you like to taste), diced bacon, shaved ham and twiggy sticks (found in the deli) and don't forget a pack of Nobby's cashew nuts.
As you start to design the pizza, spread on the paste and smokey barbeque stirred together, apply a layer of cheese, slice the twiggy sticks and throw on with the other meats. Then throw on all the vegetables topped off with more cheese to hold all the ingredients together. Sprinkle with cashews.
Into the oven for twenty minutes then serve hot with a cold Friday night beverage.
You can either thank me for this concoction or use the pizza as a frisbee out of the kitchen into Space, but take it from me, it will become a weekend favourite.
Try it out guys and see if you like 'The Tsunami Pizza.'
