The 750 metre or 1.5km ocean swim (similar to the
Cole Classic) will return for the second time in March 2012. The first year in 2011 attracted around 800 people, and this Northern Beaches based event is deigned to raise much needed funds for charity, including the
Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club.
The Surf Swim 2012 event will be held in March.
Like any swimming based event, training is advisable as you are dealing with a different array of unplanned turbulences while swimming at sea; as opposed to a normal swimming pool. Further information on what to do if you stumble across any challenge during the event, and to consider training with an ocean swim squad prior; valuable information can be found by clicking
here in tandem with further information on this newish annual event.
You will receive similar refreshments, a finisher's medal and a swimmers cap like that of the Cole Classic, also held in the Northern Beaches the month prior to this event. If you love ocean swimming events in Sydney's Northern Beaches, you will get to enjoy two different events this year, not just one.
