Do you want to see the same sites that Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha, the bold, brassy women in the TV show and two movies "Sex and the City?" How about eating cupcakes at the same bakery, visiting the "Scout" bar, and shop in some of the same boutiques and stores in Greenwich Village and other places? You can do all that by taking the
"Sex and the City" bus tour.
The bus tour will take you to all these places, including the art galleries in Soho and other locations in and around Manhattan. For approximately 3 ½ hours, you'll literally walk through some of the same places as the four women who took New York by storm.
You'll also visit the same restaurant that was used to film the rehearsal dinner scene for Carrie's and Mr. Big's wedding. You can imagine yourself being at that gala affair, celebrating the happy ending to this long-standing romance.
You can choose from two tour times: 11:00 AM or 3:00 PM. Taking the 3:00 PM tour allows you to sleep late, then start seeing New York City come alive as the afternoon and evening unwind. The morning tour will put you in different Manhattan locations during the lunch hour. You never know who you might see grabbing a bite to eat at one of the restaurants along the route.
The tours are held daily. The cost is fairly reasonable, especially for the length of time the tour lasts.
Part of the excitement is learning where you will board your "Sex and the City" tour bus. Boarding points are around the 5th Avenue and 58th Street area, but you won't know exactly where yours is until you purchase your ticket. You never know where you might be and what you might see while you're waiting to board your tour bus.
As you visit locations where exterior shots were filmed, you'll be shown clips from the "Sex and the City" shows that featured these places. Imagine standing right in the same place that Carrie or Samantha or possibly all of the ladies were when they were experiencing some of the adventures and situations (sometimes hilarious) they found themselves in.
Make the tour even more fun by dressing in one of the same outfits that your favorite character wore. This may require a little advance viewing of past episodes as well as a quick shopping trip before the tour, but that's fine. It just makes this already fun-filled and definitely different tourist adventure just that much more enjoyable.
