The Roebuck

Young and coffee in varying degrees, Kat also says stuff @ThoroughlyMode

Some pubs sell it to you with their menu, some their selection of ales on tap, and some just boast a convivial landlord. The Roebuck might have any or all of those things, but you'd never know it, 'cause if you go there you'll be too busy enjoying the view over Petersham Meadows and down to the Thames.

To make the most of this view, The Roebuck spreads beyond its own walls, spilling out onto the wide gravel path across the road from the pub. But it seems to be OK with everyone that The Roebuck has 'borrowed' this extra bit of turf in lieu of a beer garden and it's patrolled by staff collecting glasses.

Inside it looks like a traditional pub, and they do serve food.

It's also supposed to be haunted if you're interested in that sort of thing – it dates from around 1730 so there would have been plenty of people who might consider haunting it if the opportunity arose.
