The moment I came across
The Red Lion and Sun, the Australian inside me squealed with delight. The Elizabethan style architecture will charm any traveller - and no doubt illicit reminiscent and patriotic feelings for London locals.

Inside, the decor is of old, warn wood, contrasted with fresh walls and interesting art and wall pieces. It emits a warm and inviting ambiance. As is customary for most pubs in London, well behaved dogs are welcome, which if you are a dog lover like me, only enhances the comfortable feel.
Out the front there is a fantastic beer garden, and another out the back, which on sunny days will fill up with revelers enjoying the weather, creating a lovely vibe for young and old, and man and dog.

The food is suprisingly good and better than one might expect from a gastro pub. Warm and hearty, with honest flavours. The lamb fillet over Jersey Royals and green beans with red wine sauce simply melts in your mouth.

It is easy to whittle hours away here, whether outside in the sun with a beer, or inside by the fire with a glass of red wine.
Even for those from lands far away, this is a pub that starts to feel like home, and is certainly one whose charm you'll remember for a long time to come.
