With a focus on keeping it fresh and organic, The Produce in Ashgrove is a cafe and shop for bulk food, smoothies, juices, coffee and beauty produces which are natural and organically sourced. Walking through the wide glass door and past the two black acapulco chairs at the front of the ship, I am immediately drawn to the rows and rows of white bulk tubs filled with tasty and nutritious delights like pine nuts, dried cranberries and almonds just to name a few. Walk the aisles and create your own healthy nut mix to take home.



You can even bring your own jars to fill up with your favourite products. What a great way to avoid packaging and reduce your environmental footprint.



For some sustenance, The Produce cafe, with seating by the glass window overlooking Waterworks Road, offers light snacks like salads and wraps and smoothies, juices, fruit crushes and acai bowls. For something more substantial, the cafe serves hot Byron Bay organic pies with varieties including gluten free Thai chicken, organic steak, vegan gado and curried lentil spelt. I choose the tumeric latte served with coconut milk accompanied with a raw lamington. Healthy and delicious.



My favourite part of The Produce is the fresh ground peanut butter maker. Organic beauty products and eco home products were also a surprise. A small kid's play corner is hidden at the back of the shop for the little ones to enjoy.

Adjoining HIghgrove Plaza offers a lot of undercover parking, which makes for an easy visit.
