This is a great gift idea for romantics, history buffs, seafarers or those with another item to cross off the list. Don your best bloomers to shimmy up the masts for a view over the briny deep. A must do experience to authenticate the adventure. Well so I'm told.

Even for the greenest of gills sea sickness tablets are unnecessary baggage in the kit. The basic kit should include sunscreen, hat and jacket in the interest of happy voyages. The four hour cruise provides an eclectic tapestry. The gritty industry of the inner port gradually relents to embroidered fringes of mangrove and muted expanses of sky and ocean.

The conventional greeting applies when the locals arrive to kiss the bow. Dolphin sightings are not guaranteed though. Being visitors to their home a chance meeting is on their terms. Experience the change in perspective by gazing east from a rare westerly coordinate just past the entrance.

Children under 18 years must be chaperoned by an adult. If they alight at one end then they are returned to dry land at the other (behaviour dependent). No floggings, unfortunate plank episodes or who wants to play penal colonies were witnessed aboard.

The maximum booking is for 50 so an intimate setting is assured. No short cuts are made on food or refreshments with quality being well considered.

To set sail at twilight enquire at Tall Ships . To haul ropes and hoist sails other options of racking up nautical miles are also available.

Cost is $120 inclusive per person.
Ship departs 15 mins before 6:00pm, so don't be late. Land Ho is at 10:00pm
