s have to be one of the most beautiful collections of roses in the country. There is a huge variety of beautiful blooms, and when spring comes around and they're in their full glory it is hard not to appreciate the beauty. You'll find the rose gardens in Parkes, on either side of Old Parliament House. They aren't the same as the Old Parliament House Gardens, so make sure you check out both.

The Queen of Hearts would have many people's heads over these gardens, while there are some very luscious red flowers, there is definitely no colour code here. Roses come in all sorts of colours, from pretty pinks, to rich reds, and even beautiful multicoloured blooms. Roses are a very aromatic flower, and the smell walking through the gardens really is quite lovely.

One of the most beautiful roses on show would have to be the purple roses. They are such a unique colour, and one that is often not found in your front garden. You'll spot them straight away as you walk around, and something about them just looks so special. Unfortunately you can't take them home for yourself. There are so many varieties here, that there is no doubt everybody can find their favourite.

Once you've taken some time to stop and smell the roses, the National Rose Gardens make the perfect picnic spot. Pull up a blanket and enjoy food with a view. If you don't want to bring your own food you can also go to the nearby Pork Barrel Cafe.

The Rose Gardens are free to visit, and even if you're just wandering through you should take a quick stroll through to see the beautiful blooms.
