Mouses House is a romantic getaway beautifully positioned in the midst of the Springbrook rainforest in the Gold Coast Hinterland. This is the place to go when one wants to lose oneself in the revitalising air of something pure, something far removed from the hectic pace of everyday life.
Guests begin their stay by navigating a floating walkway surrounded by streams and tall trees to reach their individual chalets. We were most pleased to find the Mouses House provides a nice trolley to cart luggage along the walkway.

There are three levels of accommodation to suit a variety of budgets. We choose the mid-level choice being the Rainforest and Stream Chalets. These are an A-frame design with a spacious deck overlooking a gushing stream. Some of the more expensive Luxury Chalets have a private hot tub on their deck. Every chalet has its own self-contained kitchen and BBQ on the deck.
Nothing beats cooking a BBQ in the cool mountain air on your own private deck with the music of a gurgling stream playing in the background. The Cottages supply all cooking utensils, but guests should bring all their own food and drink, as supplies in Springbrook are limited.
Beware of cheeky possums sneaking up to snatch unattended food left by the BBQ – we almost lost ours. Expect bush turkeys to drop by your front door expectantly in the morning for breakfast.
These cottages are an exceptional nature experience combined with irresistible romantic charm. Each has its own double spa and fireplace complete with a huge box of wood. There is also a larger hot tub and sauna on the premises for the exclusive use of all guests.
Wonderful possibilities for lazing around must compete with other activities such as some of the most magnificent hikes around Springbrook. Try Purlingbrook Falls, Twin Falls Circuit and Best of All Look Out just for starters.

Mouses House is truly a unique romantic experience for couples. But if you really want to bring the kids, or share the expense or experience with friends, the A-Frame Chalets offer an upstairs loft with an additional bedroom. They really have thought of everything. Enjoy.
