is located in New Farm on the corner of Moray Street and Merthyr Road. New Farm is quite a high-end area of Brisbane, so I have to admit, before checking it out, I was thinking meals might be a little out of my student price range. However, rejoice, this is not the case.

The cafe's menu is quite extensive (as they offer breakfast and lunch seven days a week, and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday), but within an affordable price range. The basics are available for lunch and dinner - sandwiches, salads, burgers and fish of the day - but there are also some more unique options - crumbed wagyu sausages, Spanish paella and rabbit and apple cider pie . Then there are the favourites, such as the "Fat Chook Parma".

For those on a budget like me, Tuesdays at are "Tight-ass Tuesdays", which means everything (on a set, but generous menu) is $12. I ventured to the cafe a few Tuesdays ago with three friends for dinner, as one had been raving about the "Fat Chook Parma".

Upon first appearance, the cafe looks fairly small, but there are actually tables and chairs inside and all along the wall; and on a Tuesday, it was quite busy (luckily we had booked).

Between us we ordered two parmas, a lamb curry and I had grilled Salmon, which was well cooked and delicious. My friend said the curry was perhaps a little fatty, but the parmas were indeed a good kind of "fat" - taking over most of the plate, accompanied with chips and salad - so, definitely good value.

We each had a beverage and couldn't help but share a strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake (with icecream and saffron fairy floss), which was delicious but probably best shared.

Similarly, the cafe has "Steak-out Fridays" and offers a 300 gram rump steak for $15 for lunch or dinner. I also noted quite a good alcoholic beverage list and a range of gluten free food options. Staff were funky and friendly too.

I'm eager to have breakfast at the cafe next. Again, there are a range of basic combinations, as well as a few very unique dishes available.

serves up quality food at affordable prices, and it's great for a cheap, mid-week meal, or a long Saturday afternoon over a bottle of wine or two.

Opening hours are from 6am till 5pm on Monday and Sunday (breakfast and lunch), and from 6am till late from Tuesday to Saturday (for breakfast, lunch and dinner). Parking down a side street is your best bet, and it's a good idea to make a reservation .
