Based in Deptford in south-east London, the Midi Music Company offers lessons with an array of instruments, including guitars, keyboards and drums.
Learning an instrument focuses the mind, improves coordination and concentration, and is a fun skill that can enrich the lives of the player and those around them. The company offers a 10-week course for those aged between 5 and 15 years. Called the
Budding Musicians Club, the course costs just £40.
For those a little older, a number of short courses are offered in the evenings over a ten-week period. These cost £80 (or £40 for concessions).
Among the short courses there's the
Music Production class where you'll learn how to get the most out of the same music production software used by industry professionals.
Trained tutors will show you how to sequence, mix and sample. The genre of music you want to specialise in is entirely up to you. The skills you learn here will simply help you to achieve whatever it is your imagination comes up with.

Cre8tive Voices course could be the one for you. Led by the experienced Kocoa Brown, this course build your confidence as a vocalist while teaching you how to breathe effectively, create wonderful harmonies and improve your all-round singing skills.
Music for TV Commercials looks at how to make ads that can shift products off the shelves, taught by an expert who works in the business.
Finally there's the
Cre8tiv Keys course - this one teaches, among other things, how to construct a song by looking at the structure of successful compositions. The aim of this course is to really push your creative ability to the limit.
