's a cosy little bar situated on Elizabeth Street, just above Flinders Station Hotel Backpackers. You go up an escalator to get there and inside you'll find pool tables, a host of international travellers and friendly bartenders.

It's a great place to go during the day for a few cold beers and a round of pool with a few mates. The cost of drinks is on par with other places in the CBD, (unless you're going for shots, which are dirt-cheap).

My favourite thing about the Joint Bar is its balcony. If you find a nice day then it's definitely worth sitting out in the sun. You look over Elizabeth Street and see people going about their day on the streets below. You're right in the beating heart of the city but it's easy to feel removed from it all from such a high vantage point.

Later on the Joint Bar becomes an ordinary club. Its playlist is conventional, opting to run down the pop charts, and I don't see anything special about going at night.

But if you're looking for a good place to waste a few hours during the day and you'd like a great view over Elizabeth Street and a warm, relaxed atmosphere then make sure you visit the Joint Bar.
