The Highlander Hotel has great food and accommodation but my favourite thing about this place is the entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. Always check their website before you go for details about who's playing and any cover/entry charges that may apply.
On Friday nights you will find Club Hi-Jinks, with free entry before 9.30pm and after that it's usually a $5.00 entry fee. They've got great DJ's playing all of your favourite hits and it's always a good night. Each Friday night they also have special guest appearances by local Adelaide celebrities and entertainers.
Saturday nights they have their "Live & Loud" sessions, where you will find one of many great Adelaide bands rocking the crowd all night. Whoever happens to be playing is always very entertaining and you wont be let down or bored all night like some other clubs and pubs around town. Entry is usually $5.00 after 9.30pm but if there's a really popular band playing it can rise to about $10.00 which is still pretty good.
Happy hour is between 9.30pm and 10.30pm and they also have heaps of great drink specials all night. The crowd is very relaxed and easygoing as are the bar and security staff. There's also an excellent outdoor area with plenty of tables and chairs and a beautiful water feature. A great spot to relax with a cocktail on a balmy summer night with good friends.
I highly recommend the Highlander Hotel which is situated on North East Road at Gilles Plains, not far from the city. Why not book for dinner first and party the night away, a top night out guaranteed.
