One thing is for sure, The Hackney Hotel is an all-rounder. Whatever your need, or whenever it may be, this pub will deliver time and time again. Since I first walked through the Hackney doors some three and half years ago, the pub has gone through significant renovations. Despite the change, it still has a raw authenticity that makes it feel like everyone's favourite local.
If I had to set a typical scene, I would struggle because of the many differing moments I have had at this classic Australian pub. From soccer shorts with muddy socks, to black tie dresses with 6-inch stilettos, yep, the Hackney has catered for it all. And through the times not once have I felt out of place.
I highly recommend residing in the beer garden on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Or in contrast making the most of an $11.90 feed with a beverage on a Friday night whilst listening to the DJ. Then again the Zubar bar is prefect for watching the footy, playing a game of pool or even chilling on the lounges with a cocktail. It's also the place I'm most likely to be found when at the Hackney.
The food is impressive and won't leave you hungry, or spoiled of choice. If eating in the boisterous pub area is not your style, then there is always the option to dine in the family approved dining area. Prices are pretty standard and you get what you paid for in terms of quality. There are also delicious catering options and spacious function rooms, which are perfect for special events.
In both the best of worst of times, there is always a reason to head down to the Hackney. The friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere will make you feel right at ease. Whatever your mood may be, there are plenty of ways to secure a good time. So next time you want to flee the hustle and bustle of the city, but without venturing too far, give the Hackney a go.
