Located in the Blacktown Showground precinct handy to the waterpark and playground The Grounds Keeper Cafe is not your average park kiosk. Offering fresh middle eastern inspired food the menu is the same as the cafe in Ryde Park and offers something for everyone.

Seating is available inside or in a covered outdoor area where several people had their dogs with them. The cafe has table service and water was brought to us without us having to ask. If you want to sit closer to the playground there is a take away section where you can grab a coffee and a freshly baked treat.

The salads we chose were full of flavour and freshly made, there was a good quantity of slow cooked lamb mixed in with rocket and the minty yogurt dressing. The chicken with my haloumi salad was warm, juicy and nicely spiced. I enjoyed that the beetroot was fresh (not tinned or overlooked) and that there was a generous amount of pistachios and walnuts in the salad.

They have gluten free and vegetarian options and the coffee, at $3.50 a cup, is delicious and well made. The staff are young, eager and helpful and the cafe is well situated for a good day out. There is plenty of free parking in the showground precinct which is also a close walk to Blacktown Station and Westpoint shopping centre.
