The Great Christmas Pudding Race

Home > Things to do in London > Community Events
Event: 05/12/2009
Traipsing around crowded London streets at Christmas is not everybody's ideal way to spend a Saturday. For something more relaxing, why not run an obstacle course while carrying a pudding on a tray? Or you could just go and watch, I suppose.

If you need a break to recharge your batteries and put down your bags of Teletubbies or whatever it is the children want these days, pop along to Covent Garden market and watch the 29th Great Christmas Pudding Race.

Teams will gather in fancy dress to run a relay race with the added challenge of trying to keep a Christmas pudding in tact, all in the name of cancer research. The race has attracted many celebrity supporters over the years so keep your eyes open for Bill Oddie and members of the Eastenders cast, all of whom have made appearances in the past.

So, whether you want to register to run yourself or just show up for some moral support, don't miss this sports day with a brandy and cinnamon twist.
