When it comes to a good rivalry it's no good leaving it on the field. True Australia and New Zealand have had it out on the Rugby field‚ the netball court and many other manner of things involving a ball and chance to throw a cheeky insult at our cousins across the ditch - but craft beer is a new frontier altogether.

With recent years seeing an immense rise in the popularity of craft beer in Australia and New Zealand, here is a festival that'll seek to pit the trans-Tasman rivals against one another to see who reigns supreme in the hops and barley game.

With 34 Breweries to feature their beers during the event - with chance to try a number during a blind tasting alongside discounted beer after end of official formalities - the day promises to be one of great variety and diversity.

I'm turn‚ irrespective of any contest‚ they'll still be chance to enjoy trying out a new beer with friends in a great Melbourne suburb. So‚ a great day to get along‚ try some new beers and who knows? You may even become friends with a Kiwi or two in the process and find a beer you enjoy just as much as L&P Lemonade.
