Welcome to The Gold Dust Lounge
On Williamson Street in Bendigo, a small gap between two wrought iron bannisters announces entry to the Gold Dust Lounge. A steep, set of stairs leads patrons down, under street level, into the 150 year old basement of the historic Shamrock Hotel.
In the cavities below, they'll find timber flooring, raw brick walls, muted, black vinyl, bench seats and comfortable, modern lounge chairs. There's a small intimate stage, short stools around heavy, marble tables and many cosy alcoves. The sunken, dark ceilings give a gentle acoustic balance to the live acts that play there, helping performers achieve a subtle sound.
Importantly, for a bar, The Gold Dust Lounge has a comprehensive drinks menu. Many regional wines available and American Pale Ale, Stella Artois, Asahi Beer and Carlton Draft, are all on tap. The Gold Dust Lounge stocks Australian craft beers like Lord Nelson's and the Bootleg Breweries Raging Bull. They have Mischief Cider too. All drinks are served in decadent glassware. Large enough so that you can swill your wine about or down a schooner of your chosen brew.
