Of all the really great Vintage shops in London, The Girl Can't Help It is probably the most glamorous, from the cheeky chick on their logo to Sparkle Moore, the owner, proprietor, and more importantly the buyer.

Ms Moore is American, and does a lot of her sourcing there – so when you mention glamour in reference to her, we're talking proper, old fashioned Hollywood glamour. And when you mention vintage in regards to her, you must only talk about actual vintage pieces, not just anything that's old and second hand. For TGCHI only stocks "exceptional, true 30's, 40's and 50's pieces in their best possible condition, carefully selected and many still with their original tags attached".

As well as gowns for starlets to dance and dine in, there are also work numbers for power dressers and office flirts, casual summer dresses for driving and picnicing, and beach attire for bathing beauties. If you're a seriously old fashioned gal you'll be interested to hear that Ms. Moore also stocks a large selection of never worn French and American unmentionables from the 30's to the 50's and seamed nylons to finish off any perfectly timed number. And of course shoes, bags and hats, for no outfit is ever really complete without all three.

If you're a dapper, gent who likes his sartorial splendour, then don't think this boutique is just for the birds, Mr. Cad van Swankster runs the men's side of things, and he's not without vintage vision either. The men's section is dominated by the 50's but if you prefer another era you will find it here as well, and in just as good nick as the ladies togs.

As well as making the selection for the good of the store both Sparkle and Cad will apply their eye to your own look and help you discover things that might compliment your own style and figure – now you don't get that sort of service at the mall do you?
