"Should we call for help?""Surely we don't need it..."

You will experience interchangeable moments of pitiful self-doubt and glorious smug satisfaction in the hour long problem solving chronicle in which you will work alongside teammates to make a daring escape out of a room that isn't REALLY locked (for safety's sake).Perth Escape Hunt is a live role-playing game experience situated on Fremantle's busy cappuccino strip inside The Piazza, at Unit 29A/36 South Terrace in Fremantle, opposite the Monk Brewery and above the Pickled Fairy. Conveniently located just five minutes away from the Fremantle train station, this interactive and immersive game is open from 9:30am until 9:30pm 7 days a week, with the last booking at 8pm.

The ultimate aim of the game is to solve the answers to questions that you don't even know until you work them out for yourself as quickly as possible. Clues can be obtained from items, gadgets and unexpected objects inside a deceptively simple room and will test your logical sense, lateral thinking and possibly your sanity.

The waiting room is thematically furnished with couches, puzzles and other playful mini games to keep you entertained while waiting for the game to start. Before your team enters the escape room with the door treacherously closing behind you blocking out freedom for a whole 60 minutes, the game master will set the entire scene for the team. You are briefed on your circumstances (which often involves a nail biting life or death situation) before your group is ushered inside and left with nothing but your collective brains and a vital little thing called teamwork.

There are 3 themed adventures split into 5 separate rooms to challenge your mind and frenemies simultaneously should you choose to split your group into two teams. The magic numbers of 2-5 people is the ideal group size to attempt a room as a group of 6 players will be recommended to split into two teams to compete.

The easiest room of the three is Poisoning in the Cafe, in which your team has to find a cure to a poisoning incident within 60 minutes. The next room, Murder in the Tavern, ranks higher in difficulty level and challenges players to work out who the murderer is before they escape at large.

The most difficult, Escape from the Mine, carries a story line revolving around a group of detectives investigating an abandoned mine when the rockface catastrophically collapses during the exploration, blocking off a supply of oxygen underground. As the seconds slip away on the timer in the room, your group is tasked with the rush to find your way back to the surface through a series of intricate puzzles and riddles.

Each escape room is designed with much thought and creativity put into making each game into a challenging and stimulating experience for different age groups. With ongoing innovation at the forefront, the games are changed every 9 months on average - an inviting excuse to return time and time again to live a new experience.

Whether you wish to pursue the adventure with only one other partner in crime or a whole team of self-proclaimed masterminds, Perth Escape Hunt provides a dedicated and friendly game master who will personally guide your group through the whole game play. Should the entire team get stuck and have used every last drop of brain juice, the game master is a walkie talkie's call away to direct further instruction. You are not limited to a certain quantity of lifeline calls so remember not to waste precious seconds battling your inner pride to call for help!

Moments after our grand escape from the deep underground mine, we are greeted by our game master again as we make our way to the lounge area. Guests are treated to complimentary cool drinks and are invited to dress up in a range of outfits from a nostalgic, childhood memory-inducing costume box. As you stand there in your checkered cape, fluorescent construction workwear whilst sporting an overgrown beard prop laughing at each other and posing for a photo, just remember that this WILL eventually end up on Perth Escape Hunt's social media!

A variety of merchandise such as souvenirs, playing cards and clothing branded with Perth Escape Hunt is available for purchase to remember your experience. A Wall of Fame sits high and proud in the waiting room for all to see and compete to get a place on. It also serves as a useful tool in which to make a personal judgment on your own team's wits and performance, ranging from masterminds to "Gosh, this is embarrassing".
