With around 15 golf courses to choose from the magnificent Mornington Peninsula is a haven for golf enthusiasts. The Dunes Golf Links is a public golf course that offers a straight forward experience with all the picturesque sensation of the Peninsula.

The Dunes Golf Links is currently ranked #3 public access course in Australia by the Golf Course Guide for the ninth year running and #14 best golf course in Australia by Readers Digest.

Situated a 90 minute drive from Melbourne The Dunes Golf Course offers two courses over 150 hectares of spectacular sand hills. The Dunes eighteen hole Championship course proves to be a challenge for a low marker, but still workable for a higher handicap golfer. Opened in 1997 the 6,464 metre, par 72 course was designed by renowned golf course architect Tony Cashmore.

The 9 Hole Cups course is a popular choice with visitors, holiday makers and juniors. It is a par 33 with four par 3's, four par 4's and one par 5. To read a more in depth description of their courses click here.
Of course no course would be complete without restaurant, bar and golf shop. Open for lunch all year around you can sit and enjoy the scenery with a meal after a cruisy game of golf.

There are a number of tournaments throughout the year that you can either join or come along as a spectator. Including the Tombstone challenge which is run on a monthly basis as well as other annual competitions, with the 2011 Dunes Medal starting end of November.

If your feeling rusty or even a complete novice you can also partake in golf tuition to scrub up your skills. Golf lessons are available at The Dunes with Peter Crocker PGA. For more information or to book individual or group lessons please contact Peter directly at 0415292549. Book your next game at The Dunes by emailing golf@thedunes.com.au or phone (03) 5985 1334.
