Need a place to go for a great night of entertainment? Try the
Crown and Anchor Hotel. Nestled on the corner of Union and Grenfell streets, the 'Cranka' is home to live original Adelaide music and talented DJs. Offering musical styles from rock, goth, punk, psychobilly and acoustic; this pub in the east end will have something to please and entertain you.

The Crown and Anchor endeavours to focus strongly on local talent with free live music, proudly giving new bands and young musicians a platform to perform.
Upstairs you will find the balcony and voodoo lounge which is a great place for functions and can be hired on Friday and Saturday nights at very reasonable rates.
The Cranka runs events all week including Sunday all ages gigs, live bands playing every Tuesday, Adelaide's best DJs almost every night and live original bands every Friday and Saturday night. With this vast array of music every week, it is easy to see that the Cranka caters for many people of all tastes.
Recently this rockin' venue has launched Adelaide's newest monthly acoustic folk night 'Folk N Roll' the fourth Monday of every month. Their first event will be held on the twenty fifth of July and will showcase bands such as, Shoelace Express (Benjamin Timbers) Rin (McArdle) Pigsy (The Thieves) Brendan Hill (Babylon Burning) and Self Preservation Society (Tristan Newsome).
Entry is free all night and will have the best drinks specials in town including $5 base spirits, $3 pints and two Jager bombs for $10. There will also be merchandise and CD sampler giveaways during the night. The night kicks off at 7:30pm and will be well worth checking out.
Other events the Cranka are hosting include, 'Fully Crank'd' on Friday, July 29th from 8:30 a metal night featuring some of Adelaide's best metal bands including, Octanic, Quaero Verum and Devonera and from New South Wales Datura Curse (releasing their new album 'Reasons'). This night of heavy metal is sure to be a massive event that will have you pumping all night.

Dr Sketchy Adelaide presents, Mafia Dolls; an offer you can't refuse. Thursday, July 28th from 7:00pm.
This mafia themed night invites you to bring your sketch pad and artistic ability (or lack of) and try to capture the beauty and style of the glamorous and unusual models. The night offers a full swing band 'Midnight Martini' and prizes throughout the night all hosted by Mob Mistress Miss Direction. Djs Sally Kitten and Mississippi Fox will then perform well into the night. This will be a great night of gags, drawing competition with prizes, music, laughs and gorgeous models.

Cranka Comedy first Tuesday of Every Month, Free Entry Starts 8pm. Looking for a good laugh? Get to the Crown N Anchor on Tuesday, July 5th hosted by Bowley (Best Emerging Comedian 2009 Adelaide Fringe). This event will be full of hilariously funny Adelaide comedians and there will be heaps of great drink specials on the night. It is always a great night of fun and hilarity.
