The Crepe & Coffee Co. in Redfern has only been open for about a month, and I wasn't able to give it a try because it wasn't open on weekends until now. I love crepes and waffles, so when I saw the signage on the cafe a couple of months ago my heart skipped a beat. A creperie in my 'hood is just what I need.
Soy Cappuccino
My soy cappuccino is great, and probably the creamiest, foamiest cappuccino I've had in a while.
The menu features both savoury and sweet crepes. Today it's a savoury-crepe kind of day, and we just can't go past the Prosciutto, mozzarella & rocket crepe. It's not even lunch time yet, but prosciutto sounds like a good idea any time of day.
The crepe itself is lovely, though I wouldn't have minded if it was a bit crispier. I definitely enjoy the combination of fillings. There was also a breakfast crepe that sent heavenly wafts of eggs and bacon around the cafe. All the crepes are very good value, around the $6 mark.
Next time I'll come back for a sweet crepe. The cinnamon and condensed milk crepes were tempting me. And the waffles - they looked great as well. I always get food envy when I see what the other customers are eating.
I like the cosy and quirky feel of the cafe, too. Add to that a giant red coffee cup in the corner, which could fit a small child or dog. I can imagine I'll be spending more time here on the weekends. Great coffee, crepes and waffles - I think that pretty much describes my perfect Sunday.
