Promising date? Special occasion deserving of something a bit swankier? You might want to consider
the Bingham Bar, conveniently located within
The Bingham Hotel - just in case it gets a bit late.
The Bingham's bar is more than a hotel bar though. It has all the benefits you'd expect from a hotel bar
not just the close proximity to privacy, you naughty thing it also has the range and service you'd expect from a good hotel. But it's also been value added with an impressively sophisticated cocktail list, a
bar snacks menu that harks from the Bingham Restaurant's kitchen, and classier dιcor than your average bar. Though this is partly because the building itself is an exercise in gorgeous grandeur it was built by a Lady Anne Bingham, who had a penchant for shiny things: hand blown glass chandeliers and mirrors that cover large stretches of wall etc. Even the ceiling of the bar is shiny, it's covered in silver leaf how very opulent, and prone to glittering when candlelit.
The wine list is sound,
another value add from the restaurant neighbour, but this is a special occasion, no? So why not treat yourself to a seasonal cocktail. The Fig Martinis: Absolut Vodka, fresh figs, Creme de Figue and apple juice,
are excellent assuming you're au fait with figs, and if you prefer dark spirits try a Markee: Jack Daniels, Chambord, rasberries, lime, Gomme Syrup and cranberry juice.
But the best thing about the Bingham Bar is that you get all this Thames-side, and with the option of afternoon tea if you like to celebrate earlier in the day.
