Sometimes it is easy to get lost in your work and other commitments and before you know it you don't have any time left for your creative personality to rear its pretty head. Having an artistic outlet can, amongst other things, help people deal with stress and express themselves not to mention have a bit of fun in the mean time.

To attack this I present you with a venue that accommodates after work creative sessions.

The Arthouse Hotel, housed in the former School of the Arts building gives you several quick fixes to get some of your creative juices flowing again. Never drawn before? That doesn't matter and that is half the fun of it. Drawing for most people is something they haven't done since school. It's time to let go of your inhibitions, while you watch other people get rid of theirs, and hit up the Arthouse Hotel every Monday night for life drawing classes. From 6.30-8.30pm these art classes are a bit of a steal at $4 a session. . This exciting initiative assists in releasing those after-work tensions by allowing you to sit back, have a glass of vino, and draw your little heart out. No bookings required, but be prompt as they get popular. BYO drawing materials and friends to admire (or share a laugh about) each others art work

Want to get Snap Happy? Tuesday nights (check the website as these aren't weekly) sees a plethora of options with Photography Workshops. Sessions include Photo Traveller, Fashion/Glamour and Fine Arts Nude. No matter what you shoot with, they will welcome you under their creative wing and teach you a thing or two. You can purchase single session tickets or get the whole package.

Want something a bit sketchier? Dr Sketchy is on fortnightly Tuesdays, from 6.30, up in the Attic Bar. This slightly more risqué night will allow you to draw all kinds of weird and wonderful things: fetish models, carnies and burlesque ladies. This is something you can't do every night, and there are prizes to win too!

If your idea of creative is something more along the lines of sitting back with a fancy branded beer and watching someone else do all the hard work, then get along to Arthouse Acoustic. Every Tuesday (5.30pm) Thursday (5.30pm) and Friday (8pm) you can listen to up and coming artists do their thing.

Right in the heart of Sydney, but something so different, the creative juices flow as much and the good drinks do at The Arthouse Hotel.
