The Art of Sleeping 'Above The Water' Australian Tour 2012

Local Brisbane boys, The Art of Sleeping are all set to hit the road again in light of the release of their new single, 'Above the Water.' They seem to have perfected the art of catchy melodies and industry hype, with this latest track getting plenty of air-play on Triple J of late.

The 'Above the Water' tour will kick off in their hometown of Brisbane in the intimate setting of Black Bear Lodge in Fortitude Valley on Thursday August 23rd. Then it's on to all the nook and crannies of the East coast, including the Soundlounge on the Gold Coast and Sol Bar on the Sunshine.

Then, the melodic music-makers will head on down the East coast of Australia, visiting Woolongong, Sydney, Geelong and Melbourne. Even the crisp air of the New South Wales Blue Mountains will be filled with the mesmerising sounds of AOS.



From being support for many great acts of late, to now having support acts of their own in tow, 2012 just keeps getting more exciting for this talented five-piece. Sydney-based pop indie band, Tigertown will accompany them on the entire tour. Bringing their equally as beautiful harmonies and captivating hooks, I believe this partnership will make for one beguiling tour.

Along the way, Art of Sleeping will also be joined with local groups in each state. Look out for The Phoncurves in Queensland, Maples in New South Wales and Kathryn Rollins in Victoria to round off the entourage.

Concluding the eight shows in Melbourne on September 8th will definitely not be the end for the Brisbane group. They're on the exciting Big Sound line-up in September and have joined forces with Paper Kites for their extensive EP tour starting on the 11th October.

With big things popping up left, right and centre for Art of Sleeping, they are definitely a Brisbane band to watch.
