Travel in peace and comfort, not hustle and bustle

The simple fact of Melbourne's CBD is this: To enjoy a night out in the city, catching a taxi is a must. Whether it is because you will be having plenty of drinks or transport at that time of night is dreaded, a taxi always provides the best option. Is this definitive a positive?

While many stories arise of bad experiences coming from a cab, it is usually the passenger that makes the situation something unwanted. If you are clear with directions and tell the driver an exact route, it will be followed. If you are vague, expect reciprocation. With the new pre-payment rule applying to weekends, honesty and integrity have risen on both behalves. Everyone wants a safe, enjoyable ride home, and companies such as Silvertop and Melbourne Cabs provide a service that allows for the night to start and conclude successfully.

The availability and abundance of yellow coloured vehicles driving through the crowded streets of Melbourne gives everyone the knowledge that travel is never a problem in the city. On Friday and Saturday nights there are almost more cabs than other cars, and most will stop immediately when hailed down and empty.

My personal experiences have usually been exceptional. Co-operation is the key, and when you think of what these drivers see on a weekly basis, it becomes clear that they want to send you home efficiently. With easy-to-remember numbers (think 13CABS) and clean vehicles, Melbourne boasts a professional service. Don't let a single bad experience or story stop you from travelling in the easiest, most comfortable and suprisingly affordable form.
