There is no need to break the bank to get a decent hair cut and/or colour here in Sydney. There are many places that provide cheap hair cuts and colours from apprentice hairdressers who are nearing the end of their apprenticeship, and students nearing the end of their hairdressing Diploma.

After much soul searching, through a friend of a friend I discovered the Toni and Guy Hairdressing Academy at Oxford Street in Paddington.

You just need to be a little patient as the same quality treatments can take a bit longer than if it was being done by a more experienced hairdresser. The hairdressers get a lot of attention from their teachers, who appear to be the most passionate in their field. They are passionate about hairdressing and teaching.

There has never been a problem when I have used this academy for a cheap cut and colour on a few occasions in the past. For only around $30 expect a quality cut with a full head of foils. Just as good as if you walked out of a salon. Great to do a bit of both, depending on your finances at the time, and to help the trainees become qualified.
