There must be money to be made in Indian fashion. At last count (though things can change very quickly) there were 15 Indian fashion Boutiques on George Street Liverpool alone. But wait, there's more on nearby Northumberland Street and the arcade that connects them.
I've calculated that at the current rate of expansion, every store in Liverpool will be selling Indian fashion by 2020. Or something like that. If you want a Sari in a hurry, there's no doubt Liverpool is the place to shop.
It's hard to believe there is a street outside New Delhi where you'll find so many shops selling such a huge range of men's and women's Indian clothing, jewellery, beauty products, services and accessories. If you are after a Sharara, Lenghas, Sherwanis, Jodhpuri and Kurta Pajama suits or just a Sari, you'll surely find something here that will satisfy your Indian fashion fetish or at the very least, take you back to some Bollywood movie you once saw that blinded you with a sea of colourful costumes.
Most of the stores have typically exotic Indian names such as, Shingar Emporium, Roshan's Fashions or
Shaadi in Style. Others just cut to the chase like Bollywood4U or
Fashion of India.
Complementing the fashion stores in Liverpool's 'Indian quarter' are several delicious Indian sweet shops, grocery stores as well as a few renowned Indian restaurants to spend some time in between trying on some Saris and help make your Liverpool 'Little India' experience complete.
