I've heard really good things about this restaurant. Being a vego as well I can completely relate to the stodgy-ness and oiliness of a lot of vegetarian food, so this sounds like a winner :)

Shobu in Darlinghurst satisfied my need of a delicious, healthy chicken noodle soup after being doubtful of finding something suitable and reasonably priced.
They served me up a perfect chicken udon noodle soup that really hit the spot. I will definitely be back!

Having recently moved to Stanmore, I had my horizons broadened by following a hot tip to head to the Marrickville farmers markets on Sundays! Upon arrival, I was not disappointed! A laid-back vibe, without the effort of Glebe or Paddington markets; a picturesque setting with ample parking opportunities; fabulous food that's freshness and diversity reflects both the magic of Australian organic, local produce and the gastro delights from the far corners of the globe - made all the more significant when a 747 thunders overhead!! A beautiful, effortless morning spent either on your own or with a loved one.

Have now given it a go, and I wasn't impressed. The atmosphere was interesting, and the service was acceptable, but the food was disappointing.

The three entree's I shared with my dining companion were all bland. My main - the Prosciutto, Pear & Pecorino salad - was terrible. Great quality prosciutto, but the dish overall lacked balance and subtlety of flavour. The pear was soggy.

This place seems to be cashing in on the Jamie Oliver brand to sell mediocre Italian fare for premium prices.

The Spit to Manly Walk is one of my favorites, catch the bus from Wynyard and get off at The Spit. Then its a lovely 9 kms walk following the foreshore to Manly Wharf. Before heading home have a great pub lunch at the Ivanhoe or others nearby. We use the family funday pass on Sundays using public transport. This makes the day very affordable and lots of fun.

Lol, now I know why he was so keen to look after our horses. A few years ago my friends and I turned up unannounced at a suburban pub in our horses. The publican couldn't do enough for us, he roped off a coral for the horses in a corner of the beer garden, brought out big buckets of water and shouted us all a drink, while apologising for not having any horse feed there.
