If you are a seafood fan (or just like a really good fish and chips) then you should visit the
Sydney Seafood Market in
Blackwattle Bay.
It's the second largest (in terms of variety) seafood market in the world, with over 100 different critters from the big blue for sale on any given day.
It's also a great place to grab some takeaway for a Saturday or Sunday lunch, which you can eat at the tables next to the market, or while lounging in the park over the road.
I like to combine a visit to the market with a walk down nearby
Glebe Point Road with it's interesting shops, and the always charming
Glebe Markets if I'm there on a Saturday.
You should not have too much trouble finding a park in Glebe, you can use the Broadway Shopping Centre carpark if you cannot find a spot on the street. Glebe is also well served by
public transport.
If it's a hot day you could also visit the
Victoria Park Swimming Pool to cool off after all that walking, and make a day of it.
If you would like to learn how to cook seafood then I'd also recommend the
Sydney Seafood School, which is based at the fish markets.
Why? Yummy yummy seafood in your tummy.
