The Sydney Easter Parade will hold a fantastic family day in Hyde Park on Easter Monday, the 28th March 2016. A centre stage will be the focus for the entertainment with a DJ, cultural performances, and live bands.

In days of old, it was fashionable to don your Easter bonnet, dress in your Sunday best, and stroll the Avenue. This past time was made popular in the classic film Easter Parade, starring Fred Astaire and Judy Garland.

These days we still like to get out and about on the last day of Easter. And these days we like to be entertained rather than just going out to be seen in our stuffy and overdressed clothes. In our times, on the Public Holiday Monday we have usually completed the shopping, the egg hunts in the garden, church services and a house full of family visitors. Time to get out of the house and do something special.



This event is brought to you by Sydney's Christian community to celebrate Easter. The organisers invite all denominations and ethnic groups to join in. Organisers are also keen to hear from anyone who has an act, so if you can sing, dance or are part of a performance group and would like to be part of this event, or would like to open a food stall, contact the email below

This year for the first time, the event will have an International Food Festival Smell the beautiful aroma of BBQ chicken satay in the air and taste the exotic flavours from Asia, South America, South Pacific, and more. So take a day off, come and sit on the lawns and enjoy the music, while sampling some great food.

There will be plenty of fun for the children, with many kids rides and activities for them to participate in. Have you ever stood and watched a parade and wished you could be a part of all the excitement. Well, here is your chance. A street parade with all the things we love such as marching girls, brass bands, community and school groups will happen in the afternoon. Towards the tail-end of the parade the public are welcome to join in as it continues around the north of Hyde Park. Dress up or not, as either way you are invited to join in the Easter Parade.
