Dumpling houses in the CBD are (generally) not a good bet, unless you are tired, over-refreshed and very, very hungry. These small establishments cater for fast people: in, sit, order, eat, out. Usually in that order, with minimum service and cramped seating. Not the best of times for those looking for a more 'restaurant' vibe from their Cantonese cuisine. And this is where stands apart.

And let us be frank here - this is a slightly bigger, busier dumpling house. But turns this idea inside out and serves fantastic food for incredibly low prices.

The first thing that should guide your empty stomachs here are the opening times: daily, 5:30pm - 2:30am. Yes, you did read that correctly: 2:30 IN THE MORNING. As soon as this place opened, it struck a chord with the post-hospitality crowd. Lots of hungry young waiters and waitresses filled the spacious dining room every night after 12ish. Also, being a hospitality crowd, they wouldn't eat anywhere that didn't service great food. Fortunately, wins here as well.

Let us give you a rundown of a typical night: chill quail (1), selection of soup, oysters, whole roasted duck, BBQ suckling pig, Cantonese beef, tempura vegetables, rice rice rice, beer beer beer, wine, coffee, deep-fried ice-cream. And I genuinely can't remember what else we had at that point. And for all this?...

Less than $50 a head. Speaks for itself really.

Unfortunately, is somewhat let down by its waitstaff, who genuinely seem not to care what you did or didn't order. Their look is that off 'go away I don't care anymore I could be home sleeping'. Not the best look. Also, conditions can get quite cramped at busy times. But what did you expect? This is technically a dumpling house: of course service will be terrible and cramped. The food well and truly makes up for these shortcomings.

But if you are looking for that late-night snack that won't hit your wallet. and is far tastier than a nameless burger from that Mc- place, try .
