What is Sunday Assembly

"The Sunday Assembly is a Global Network of people who want to make the most of this one life we know we have" "Our Mission: To help everyone find and fulfil their full potential."

Comedians; Sanderson Jones and Pippa Evans started Sunday Assembly in the United Kingdom after many talks and interactions with a variety of supporters and advocates.

The Sunday Assembly is a group of people from all walks of life who share three fundamental aspirations -

Live Better – Living Better encompasses ethical values, the good of community, people, animals and the environment.

Help Often – The Adelaide Sunday Community is in the process of choosing which Charity will receive 50% of their donations.

Wonder More – They cultivate and share a sense of wonder at the many joyful, intriguing, loving and beautiful aspects of life.
How Sunday Assembly Works

Sunday Assembly is a congregation and a community; similar to a church but with the "God" bits taken out – leaving it open for anyone's beliefs.

Many of the members do not believe in God, and may others believe in God in a way that doesn't fit with any particular religious denomination. But they all enjoy the sense of community and caring that a church style community creates.

Members are from all walks of life, all races, ages and creeds. With nearly 100 congregations across 15 countries they have created a community that spans the globe.

Adelaide's Sunday Assembly welcomes people who wish visit to find out for themselves what Sunday Assembly is all about. There is no criteria to join Sunday Assembly.

An open mind, a loving heart and compassion are all qualities that are welcomed amongst all members.

The next assembly in Adelaide is on Sunday 21st of September at The Box Factory, 59 Regent St, City, at 10am. The speaker will be
double lung transplant survivor Ru Barker who knows all about making the most of 'today'

Sundays Assemblies are conducted every third Sunday of the month. The meeting room is accessed by the side of the Box Factory and up the steps. There is a lift and accessible toilets for anyone with a Disability.

Program

Games are a social skill that many of us have actually lost or forgotten. The games played at Sunday Assembly are designed to help people to relate, communicate and build relationships with each other. They are designed to be fun!

A guest speaker is invited from either the broader Community or from The Sunday Assembly Congregation.

Past talks have been about Charities, Mental Health, Random Acts of Kindness, Environmentally Ethical Living, Meditation and The Languages of Love.

Sunday Assemblies also share a minute's silence. This is a peaceful time of retrospect.

Adelaide Sunday Assembly is lucky to have musicians Oliver Lacota on keys, Forte Bagshaw on strings & vocals and Jordi Bell on vocals. There will be a great range of songs suitable for young and old.

Recently the Adelaide Sunday Assembly had it's first Baby Naming Day. It was a Humanist ceremony with not only the usual congregation but quite a few visitors looking on and joining in.

In fact, it was even covered by the Advertisor.

Why not visit Sunday Assembly in a celebration of life and all that is good in the world. You may be pleasantly surprised.
