Scitech is a great place for Perth's future scientists to learn and have fun, and an easy way to entertain the kids, and parents, these school holidays. It's not always at the top of people's lists, but they have a great variety of events that are interesting for all ages. Here's my pick of the events:



1. Science Nights
Scitech's after hours show will be held on the 13th of January, from 5:30 - 8:30 PM. Kids aged 6-12 are invited to an exclusive event where they will have the opportunity to conduct experiments in the lab, explore Scitech's new backyard adventures exhibition, and a bunch of other cool stuff. Book in and get complimentary pizza and drinks.

2. Innovation in Art series
Scitech is blending science with art in a string of events that will be kicked off on the 11th of December at Scitech, with a free talk by Phil Gamblin. Phil is Scitech's new Artist in Residence and will be discussing his work, which turns science into art, as well as his inspiration for his art installation at Scitech.



3. Science Awareness Festival Careers Expo
This is a great excuse for a weekend away, as it's held in Albany. As well as being informative for anyone interested in a career in science, the expo will have some seriously awesome demo's and interactive exhibitions for anyone who... well, just anyone. The best part is that it is totally free! (Details haven't been finalised for this, so I don't have a date yet- check the website!)

4. Scitech After Dark
Similar to Science nights, but this time for adults, check out the Scitech 'Backyard Bogans' evening. On the 17th of January you'll be able to explore Scitech's Backyard Adventures exhibit, as well as over 100 interactive exhibits. The Rio Tinto Innovation Central, and the new planetarium show 'Starlight', are also part of the evening, which goes from 6-10 PM.
