Forget the swirling guttural roar of a wrestling announcer who queries participant's readiness to rumble, but keep the same level of excitement. Markets are a popular weekend pastime and are regularly available across the city and into the suburbs. However, have you ever wondered if there was a market that offered as much flexibility in the prices as well as its stock?
Queen Street Mall will be playing host to a suitcase rummage this Sunday May 6th. Antique sellers, vintage collectors and anything in between will be laying out their wares in the open, ready for hungry sifters.
The event encourages stall holders to fill a suitcase, or two, with anything they want to shift. Both stall holders and market-goers are able to swap, bargain or haggle. The array of items is endless including clothes, bric-a-brac, books, records, furniture, antiques and art. Whatever your taste, style and budget, I am sure there will be something that takes your fancy.
The Suitcase Rummage will be held at Reddacliff place, George Street, Brisbane City. The rummage is open between 12pm and 5pm. Entry is free. The final suitcase rummage will be held on June 3rd. For more information go to the
Brisbane City website.
