Wine anyone?
Back for another year is the Strategem Bendigo Winemakers Festival on Sunday 20 April, 2014. A favourite among the wine connoisseurs, this festival features over 20 wineries of the region so come and sample the best Bendigo wines against the backdrop of the gorgeous Botanical Gardens in Castlemaine.
If you've always wanted to check out the wines from Bendigo's gold-bearing soils, now is your chance. Rather than driving from one winery to the next, it's all here in the one place. Meet the winemakers, learn about the latest vintage and sample their rich, ripe reds and elegant whites. With the climate and soil perfect for growing Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, you must come and taste these varieties. Of course, Merlot, Tempranillo, Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Pinot Noir, Semillon, Riesling, Chardonnay and Sparkling are also available for tastings.
To accompany the beautiful wines, will be stalls of scrumptious eats showcasing the freshest local produce, and fantastic live music. In addition, face painting, an Easter Egg Hunt and Tim Tim will keep the young ones entertained throughout the day.
