Those of you who live on the Northern side of Brisbane, namely in the North Lakes or surrounding area, know how quickly the area is growing. It means more people, more houses, more shops and more importantly, a lot more places to eat at.
Close to Westfield shopping centre on the opposite side of Anzac Avenue is Mango Hill Market place. Alongside Coles, there has been a number of new restaurants, cafes and places to dine at open up.
Last Sunday after our son's football's first win of the season, we stopped here to have lunch on our way home. We chose to eat at newly opened, Stellarossa Espresso Bar.
Their brand is successful in a number of other places in and around Brisbane and Queensland. On their website they claim the brand was "born out of a passion for coffee and service excellence".
We experienced their friendly service.
For lunch my son chose the $10 pizza and drink special which was quickly consumed along with my chips. My choice was the lamb pita ($15.90 - marinated lamb, haloumi, fresh tomato, red onion, tzatziki in a freshly toasted pita) was very tasty indeed.
My husband ordered their trio of sliders ($15.90). The sliders consisted of pulled pork, lamb and chorizo. All their light meals came with seasoned beer battered chips. The sliders were freshly made with crusty bread and light salad fillings.
We didn't get to taste their coffee but they also open for breakfast, so we may need to make a breakfast call some time in the future. They also had a lovely display of slices, cakes and sweets, which would be perfect with a flat white or latte.
The location is ideal for a quick in and out off Anzac Avenue and close to the highway to the Sunshine Coast or a good location to grab a bite to eat either before or after the weekly shop.
