Our weather has been so dire over the last few weeks that many of us must be contemplating acquiring webbed feet. If all the rain has given you a taste for water, there's a brand new sport that's just come to Twickenham. Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is easy to learn, strengthens your muscles, and burns an impressive 1,000 calories per hour.

The sessions are run by
Active360 whose fully trained coaches are offering taster classes and coaching, both in groups or on a 1-1 basis. You can also organise parties on the water if you would like to share in a little more fun with your friends. Equipment, including boards and paddles can be bought or hired, so all you need to do is turn up near Eel Pie Bridge in Twickenham. The tides on the Thames are less strong along this stretch of the river and you could paddle up to Kew or down to Hammersmith and Putney. What a beautiful way to view our capital city's river whilst having fun and keeping fit.
