A good reason to visit a hospital (for once)
If you have ever found yourself wondering what goes on day to day behind the workings of a hospital, visiting St John of God Hospital on their 20th birthday celebration is the perfect chance to find out.
The hospital is set to throw open its doors to welcome the general public in to discover the scenes behind this important organisation and member of the Murdoch community. Held on Sunday, 9th March from 11am to 3pm, the St John of God Murdoch Hospital Open Day celebrates the past two decades of passionate and dedicated healthcare and support it has provided the local community.
The hospital's Open Day is a free, family friendly event catering to people of all ages, making it a fun and unique day out. Activities planned for the day consists of children entertainment, which includes but is not limited to puppet workshops, bouncy castles and face painting, as well as various demonstrations and family entertainment on stage throughout the event.
HBF is also running free Family Fitness sessions which encourage people to get fit and have fun with the whole family, whilst kids can really engage with the experience with 'Intensive Bear Unit', an interactive hospital with the lovable Ted from HBF himself. Hospital and community health stalls will also be present, and food and beverages will be available for purchase from numerous stalls and vans.
One of the highlights of the day are the tours, viewing both the general hospital and the maternity ward. The general hospital tour is conducted every 30 minutes and lasts approximately 30 minutes, and gives an opportunity to visit brand new facilities and see the hospital at work behind the scenes.
20 years of serving the community
This significant occasion is one event under an umbrella of planned events to reflect on and celebrate the hospital's numerous achievements and milestones since opening in 1994. It is an opportunity for all of us to remember and appreciate the tireless contribution and vital roles that healthcare providers and staff have in our lives.
