St. Jerome's Laneway Festival

Imagine a world without music. No music to make you happy.
No music to highlight your finest moments in life. Without music life would be dull and tedious. This is why we have music festivals; to celebrate the life that music helps us lead every day, through the good times and the bad.

Brothers and sisters, get excited – Brisbane's finest music festival will take the stage on Saturday 31 January 2015.

Having celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, the annual St. Jerome's Laneway Festival, or simple Laneway, will grace the Brisbane Showgrounds once again next year.

The festival was first launched in 2004 in an laneway of Melbourne's CBD, when Danny Rogers and Jerome Borazio threw a party and decided to call it a festival in a "colourful alley". (Sounds like these guys know how to throw one big street party).

Since bringing Caledonian Lane to life back in 2004, Laneway has hosted and boasted some of the most famous artists in the world. This legendary festival has also propelled some of our local Aussie artists to international fame, including indie rock band The Jezabels and Australian quartet Miami Horror.

Next year's lineup will include: Agnes DeMarco, Andy Bull, Angel Olsen, BANKS, Benjamin Booker, Caribou, Connan Mockasin, Courtney Barnett, Dune Rats, Eagulls, Eves, FKA Twigs, Flight Facilities, Flying Lotus (Layer 3), Future Islands, Highasakite, Jesse Davidson, Jon Hopkins, Jungle, Little Dragon, Lykke Li, Mac DeMarco, Mansionair, Perfect, Pussy, Peter Bibby, POND, Ratking, Raury, Royal Blood, Rustie, Seekae, SOHN, St Vincent and last but not least Vic Mensa.

Laneway is known for its party scene of music, drink and food (not unlike many music festivals), but what makes this festival different and special is that it has spread across seven cities and three countries – Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. This allows variety and gives a rather unique legacy to Laneway.

Wherever it goes, Laneway always offers good food, markets, local art and more, which allows a great day out with the mates plus the bonus of good music. Enjoy music at its finest hour and have a bite to eat, while supporting some of the local stalls.
