Meditation is a great way to find inner peace and enlightenment. One knows having practised it for a period of time. Having attended a few different meditation courses in Melbourne including Sahaja Yoga meditation (with this weird foot soak for the first two visits) and other meditation techniques including Vipassana to name (please don't get confused, there are so many different meditation techniques out there, they don't make too much difference) one has come to the conclusion that the Sri Chinmoy meditation courses stand out and provide excellent value.

There is something in this course for everyone, regardless as to how much you know about meditation or whether or not you have meditated before. A variety of different techniques are explained, with a chance to practise and find one that resonates with you the most. To chant or not to chant- it's all great, you have the freedom to decide, and the great thing is that (for optimum results of peace and joy in life) you only need to meditate for 5-10 minutes each morning; you can behave like a Buddhist monk and sit crossed legged on the floor, or even decide to have both feet firmly on the floor in a chair.

The teachers (they rotate) explain the different styles, and they also have time to answer your most frequently asked questions, and you are encouraged (especially in the four part beginners evening course - weekend beginners courses available) to ease yourself into your practice. Create that dynamic and peaceful meditation space. You can purchase flute music and/or books if you wish; otherwise the class is completely free of charge across various locations in Melbourne. One enjoyed this experience in Flinders Lane in the City, near the library.

You can decide (if, and only if Sri Chinmoy) resonates with you to engage in follow up sessions usually held at Kew Library one evening a week. It is best to check out the details here as they change depending on demand.

A spiritual legend (although he has passed on) lives on in the light and spiritual inspirational realm. One keeps coming back for more. Don't get me wrong, it is great to meditate alone, however it is great to meditate once in a while in a group setting where the positive energy multiplies.
