With the warmer weather just around the corner, the Spring school holidays are a fantastic time of the year to get out and about with the kids.



If you're tired of the usual school holiday outings, and need a dose of a different kind of fun, the following venues in south west Sydney are offering affordable and diverse school holiday activities.

Casula Powerhouse



At the Casula Powerhouse children aged from 3 - 16 years, can get creative and make their own artwork with materials that are squishy, inflatable, disposable, floppy, fluffy or colourful.

Workshops will include themes such as wild animal sculptures, ceramics, dance , theatre, applique, foam, claymation and much more. Prices range from $5 - $30 per child per workshop and bookings are required.

Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre is located at 1 Powerhouse Rd Casula (entry via Shepherd St). There is free parking available on site. If travelling by train, disembark at Casula Station, conveniently located only 100 metres from the Casula Powerhouse.

Moorebank Sports Club

From animals to science, kids bingo and first aid, Moorebank Sports Club is offering a variety of fun and affordable kids activities during the spring school holidays.

On Monday 26th September there will be a First Aid course for Kids. There will be two sessions and they will include practical information for kids about bleeding, bites and stings, asthma management and CPR. The cost is $15 per child which includes information to take home, a participation certificate and a fruit platter to share at the end of the session.

On the 5th October kids can enjoy some science based fun watching a Liquid Nitrogen Science show run by Fizzics Education.



Then on 7th October get ready to be entertained at the Marmoset Monkey Show. There will also be other activities throughout the holidays such as kids bingo, cupcake decorating and a pirate party.

While the kids are entertained parents and grandparents can enjoy the facilities of the club including Café 230, the Indulge Brasserie and The Backyard

Moorebank Sports Club is located at 230 Heathcote Road Hammondville. Club membership rules apply for those living within a 5km radius of the club. For bookings contact the Manta Ray Room on Ph: 9825 3300.

Revesby Workers Club



At Revesby Workers Club you can chill out at one of the free kids movies on offer including Zootopia, Kung Fu Panda 3, Finding Nemo and Goosebumps. The little ones can enjoy a big day out at a Play School Concert and older children can get building at a Bricks 4 Kidz lego workshop.

For some extra special fun roll up to the Circus Workshop where you can learn something new, and perhaps some tricks of the trade, with the circus performers.

Australian Botanic Garden

There is always something fun to do at the Australian Botanic Garden at Mount Annan. During the Spring school holidays kids aged from 6 - 14 years can join in the Chemical Concoctions or Create A Buzz Electricity workshop.

For a special after dark adventure with the family why not explore the gardens at night at the Nocturnal Discovery Tour or a Spotlight Safari Tour.



On the Saturday 8th October Erth's Dinosaur Zoo will also be visiting the garden where you can meet the cute baby dinos and an array of creatures from prehistoric days gone by.

Liverpool Catholic Club**



At Liverpool Catholic Club you can see The Trickster Show in the Auditorium on Tuesday 27th September. Adrian Dean will be performing in a 40 minute show combining balancing skills, plate-spinning and juggling. Tickets are $5 per person (and free for children under 5 years). Each Thursday during the school holidays there will be free Kids Bingo in the Auditorium at 11am.

Liverpool City Libraries



Don't forget to check out your local library to find out what they have on offer during the school holidays. Liverpool City Council is offering school holiday activities for primary school aged children in their branch libraries at Liverpool, Casula, Carnes Hill, Moorebank, Green Valley and Miller.

You can catch a fantastic Magic Show with performer Peter Wood on 27th September at Moorebank and Miller libraries. Or get creative and make your own mini-magazine, or zine, from scratch and fill it with your favourite things at Casula Library on 28th September.
