The Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park has the reputation of being a big soulless mass of concrete and glass. And it is.

A few years ago the most entertaining thing to be found there on a Friday night was the tumbleweed drifting past as you nervously made your way through the empty streets to the sanctuary of the cinema.

Random Rant: Notice how they put the cinema at the far end of the park, just like they always put the milk at the far end of the supermarket, the bastards.

However despite the clinical architecture and layout, the EQ now attracts a decent crowd most nights. The Hordern pavillion and The Forum often host worthwhile events, it's now a good place to meet up before a game at the SCG or the SFS (although a pub on Oxford St is still a good option), and they have the Village Market every Wednesday & Saturday from 10am to 3.30pm.

The Market itself gets better all the time, and there are some very good stalls selling top notch food, however this Sunday & Monday they are also having the Spring Food & Wine Festival.

From what I can tell it's going to be the regular market, plus a few wineries giving tastings:

"a variety of boutique wines from the Hunter Valley and Mudgee regions, along with premium beers and gourmet cuisine."

Why? If you've not yet been to the EQ markets, it a good time to check them out.
