If
Spitalfield's Winter Festival is anything like its roaringly successful Summer Festival back in June then music lovers are in for a treat.
Among the performers at the festival will be world class musicians and singers playing at a variety of venues around Spitalfields.
Included in the line-up is
A Filetta, a seven-strong male choir from Corsica who perform without accompaniment. Together for more than 30 years, the group sings in the traditional Corsican style and receive rave reviews wherever they go. The show takes place on the 14th December.
A top chamber choir from Iceland will also be appearing at the festival (15th Dec). The choir,
Carmina, will be making their London debut and so are the focus of much attention.
There's plenty of homegrown talent too – on the 18th of December, Shoreditch Church is hosting
Women Sing East, a 40-strong choir of - you guessed it – women. They'll be harmoniously belting out contemporary choral music, a few festive numbers and some popular folk and jazz tunes for your enjoyment.
Retrospect, a popular ensemble led by Matthew Halls, are famed for their Italian instrumental music and are performing at Christ Church on the 7th of January.

From the Tower Hamlets College Aspirations Programme, students will be putting on an exciting and inspiring show (17th Dec) combining music, dance and film.
While many of the shows are ticketed, there's also a smattering of
free events taking place too. These include Winter Songs (14th Dec), where 120 young musicians from schools in Tower Hamlets, alongside the
Spitalfields Singers and the
THAMES Saturday Music Centre Community Choir, will be performing pieces with a wintry theme.
