We arrived at South Bank at lunch time, after an enjoyable visit to the Modern Art Gallery and decided to eat at the . We did wonder where the waves were, but as we dined on the balcony, overlooking the free swimming pool/lagoon - we thought it did the trick, visually, as did the picturesque little shops and cobblestones.

Apparently it is a busker's dream on the weekends. We were greeted on the stairs by a friendly waitress, shown the table I picked and was offered a high chair for my 11 month old Grandson. We were given a water jug and our glasses filled. Lovely to have good service.

Thanks Bec.

We ordered a light pasta - spaghetti/crab/rocket in herbs and lemon juice and a gourmet toasted sandwich with sundried tomatoes, chorizo and roasted peppers and served with golden chips. Yum.

A couple of pure blonde schooners washed down the tasty meal.

For the price, the service was excellent, the napery interesting and the ambience relaxing. The Surf Club was delightful and a must-do-again experience.
