American screenwriter and film director Sofia Coppola has made only four feature films since her directorial feature film début, The Virgin Suicides, which was released in 1999, yet her unique vision is now unmistakeable.

Her award winning feature films are a mix of pop culture references, dramedy, fantastic soundtracks and unforgettable characters, such as the ageing actor Bob Harris, who finds an unlikely friend in Charlotte, whilst in Tokyo and the Hollywood celebrity Johnny Marco, who only starts to enjoy his life after a visit from Cleo, his teenage daughter.

Before making her directorial début, Coppola was largely known for her role as Mary Corleone in The Godfather Part III, which was met with somewhat unfair criticism. Coppola then went on to appear in several music videos, most notably in "Elektrobank" by The Chemical Brothers, directed by Spike Jonze and "Funky Squaredance" by Phoenix, directed by her brother, Roman Coppola.

French indie rock band Phoenix have also played an important role in Coppola's most recent films (Coppola is married to Thomas Mars, the band's lead singer); they appeared in Marie Antoinette and produced the score for Somewhere.

Coppola's features films are all connected and share similar thematic concerns and this mini film festival offers patrons the opportunity to view each of Coppola's acclaimed feature films over five days; from Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 7:00pm until Monday, February 27, 2012 at 9:00pm.

You will see two of Kirsten Dunst's best performances in the critically acclaimed The Virgin Suicides and the unfairly derided Marie Antoinette, as well as one of Bill Murray's best performances in the award winning Lost in Translation, in which he was paired with a young Scarlett Johansson (the film almost acts as companion to another indie favourite, Broken Flowers, directed by Jim Jarmusch). Also, Somewhere, Coppola's latest feature film, which was awarded the prestigious Golden Lion at the 67th Venice International Film Festival is screening. This drama, acts as a bookend to many of the themes Coppola has previously explored; for example alienation, culture shock, family and celebrity. It features great performances from both Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning, who play father and daughter.

The Virgin Suicides is screening on Thursday 23rd February and Monday 27th February at 7pm. (Click here to book tickets).

Marie Antoinette is screening on Friday 24th February at 9.15pm and Saturday 25th February at 3.30pm. (Click here to book tickets).
